iSpectacle.biz wants to know what’s cooking in your Twitter kitchen?

Lot’s of businesses are trying to make their mark on Twitter. They set up accounts, send out some tweets, and hope all of their efforts make an impact on the bottom line and generate sales.

But as social media marketers (which all business people are, these days), we should always be experimenting, adding new ingredients to our social recipe, and trying something new to keep our followers following. Here are some ideas to keep your Twitter kitchen churning out tweets worth viewing:

Keep it fresh: It takes the right mix of ingredients to make a good recipe. The same goes for social media. If you’re sending out the same tweet every day, people will start to overlook what you post. Keep your tweets interesting and timely. Mix it up! Don’t always tweet about the same subject matter. Make it interesting. Throughout the day, write a couple of tweets about your company. Then include a few informative tweets with tips or news. Have a special offer reserved only for your Twitter followers. Variety is the spice of life…and tweets!

Keep it frequent: The more you bake, the better baker you’ll be and the greater the chance someone will have to sample your offerings. Sending out one tweet per day or a few tweets within an hour might make not much of an impact nor reach many followers. It helps to spread your tweets out over the course of the day. There are programs out there that allow you to schedule tweets to help cover more hours. iSpectacle.biz can assist you in setting up these accounts so you can manage them yourself or tweet on your behalf.

Make it fun: Baking apple pie is all about fun—together! Don’t just send out one-way communiqués. Engage your followers. Ask them questions. Get their feedback. Post a survey, hold a contest, a Twitter party or chat. Make your Twitter account fun and something people look forward to viewing. Get your followers talking and they’ll most likely help spread the word about your event and in turn, your company. Don’t talk to your followers. Have a conversation with them.

Make it stand out: Which one would you grab first: a plain piece of pie or a warm slice of apple pie with ice cream? Each tweet you send has the potential either to be overlooked or read. With so many tweets appearing each hour in our timeline, we look for ones that grab our attention either by whom they’re from or how they appear. Try to use language that will get your tweets noticed. Using caps can be effective if you use them sparingly. Write as if you’re talking to a friend (which your followers are!) not like you’re writing a memo. Be conversational. Make your tweets easy to read and succinct. Try to avoid too many abbreviations. The shorter, the better.

Give them something to tweet about: People like to share recipes that are fabulous! So give them tweets that they’ll find so interesting and helpful they will want to share them with their followers. If you just tweet about your own company, you might not generate much sustained interest or retweets. Tweet about what’s happening with you, but also tweet about news, topics and tips your followers might find interesting enough to retweet.

iSpectacle.biz recommends you set up a blog and write informative, helpful posts then tweet a link to that post. Make your tweets worth reading and sharing.

The bottom line: Creating a great apple pie takes time. Social media won’t instantly bring in big sales. It’s more about creating and building relationships and gaining (and keeping) the attention of your followers. So experiment. Try new things. And alter your recipe, and add a little cinnamon now and then to learn what works and what does not. Keep it fresh and you just might find that your efforts lead to followers who are hungry for more.

The biggest mistake most businesses make when beginning a social-media campaign is believing they know how to begin a social-media campaign. Knowing nothing more than it’s easy and takes no more than 10 minutes to get started may get your page up and your phone number in the right spot, but then what?

Unfortunately, like anything else, to be successful requires a little advance planning, research, and know how. No, you don’t need a degree in computer science. But it helps to familiarize yourself with the terminology, the concept, and what has worked for others. iSpectacle.biz will work with you to formulate a clear plan.

Here’s a quick three-step guide to what it is, what works, and what it takes to succeed …

Know What: You’ve heard that Facebook is hugely popular, so that’s a good place to start, right? Well do you want to set up a page or a profile? There’s a difference and knowing it is the difference between building your business and building a collection of your most embarrassing photos. Know the terms, the capabilities, and the purpose of each. Take a look at the definition of a blog and how that’s different from micro-blogging or what an RSS feed is and how it can help fill out your social-media profiles. You don’t need to become an expert but familiarizing yourself a bit more with what things are and how they’re used can help you build a plan that fits with your plan and works for your business.

Know Why: Which brings us to the next step … Building success online means keeping up communications and giving people a reason to visit your pages. Having a lot of empty space on the Internet won’t build your business. One of the biggest misconceptions people have about social media is that having your links spread across the web is the ultimate goal and you’re done once you’ve got your pages set up. A Twitter page isn’t an advertisement and, if it were, it wouldn’t be a good one without the tweets. Don’t bother setting up the pages if you aren’t going to use them. Or start with something you can handle, or that fits your business, and build from there. Start smart and small.

Know How: The key to social-media marketing success is understanding that it isn’t advertising. Think of it as a magazine that you’re publishing. You wouldn’t attract any readers if your magazine had no articles and, instead, was only advertisements for the same business, page after page. In other words, you have to produce content that people will want enough to return to your page for updates. The content is bait. You have to have something to offer before you can expect your social-media campaign to show measurable benefits. Empty profiles and links to your other web pages won’t bring you business. Having an interactive, informative, and entertaining presence online will.

iSpectacle.biz is your ‘get off the ground’ partner. We work with you to build the appropriate pages, sites and links and help you with tying these sites together and coach you on good quality content that has interesting, informative and valuable advice about your business. About who you are and what you do and why you do what you do. Your business is different than anybody else’s business and that’s what we want to help you convey.

The iSpectacle Biz Story

Kris and I have been colleagues and friends for about four hundred years.  I helped her pick up an old moonshine still at a storage unit auction.  Back home with her new treasure in the garage and the moon shining through the bottom of the jug we were trying to locate a recipe for mash on our notebook tablet iPads, and we had a good laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation.  With 38 Special screaming ‘hold on loosely’ through the Bose speakers (there’s your old school throwback) we were debating the obvious, where do you find it?  We decided we had just the right skill set to solve the worlds problems and help folks find and be found.
We agreed we both love marketing and were fascinated by the whole social media optimization charge. Having attended countless seminars and webinars regarding social media and the changing climate of how companies must cross promote and build visibility, we stand ready.  It seemed to be a bit overwhelming and time-consuming for the average bear.  When we talked to people like yourself, they were focused on building and maintaining their business’ and although they knew they needed to be involved couldn’t manage or justify the time.
We heard what you were saying; that you don’t have enough time, you don’t know anything about it, it’s too expensive to hire a consulting, marketing, public relations firm to take care of it.  So, the iSpectacle biz was born, an answer to all of the questions and road blocks individuals and companies had with respect to social media optimization. We are here to help you with the strategy, harmony and visualization of your business.
Our concept is simple.  Keep it affordable, easy and fun.  iSpectacle is a  launching pad for people like you that realize it is important and just haven’t had the time or made the time to get started.  Our role is to make you visible to whoever is looking for you, your service or your product.
If you have a big budget for your social media endeavors and require a  gaggle of public relations and marketing folks to get and keep your message out on the web or into the cloud we are probably not a good fit.  We have preferred vendors we can refer you to, and they include video production, photography, web designers, and marketing companies.  Good  folks that do great work, reasonably.  Like us.
If you do a search of yourself or your business and it’s not clear what you do and how to find you and you want that to change we are your partner.   We will make you visible and we’ll have a bunch of fun with you while were doing it.  Looking forward to answering your questions and working with you.
